Academic cheating has been on the rise in educational institutions around the world. This increase is fuelled by heightened competition among students and is facilitated by technological advances like smartphones and ChatGPT. There is an urgent need to develop scientifically validated solutions to encourage academic integrity and curb cheating. Professor Lee will present recent findings from his team鈥檚 international labs regarding effective methods to reduce cheating on exams among university students using the randomized controlled designs. He will show that simple messaging before the exam can be highly effective to encourage academic honesty and discourage cheating on exams.
