Please find below an update on faculty search activities for this year as well as some information from the OISE Library.

 

Faculty Search Committees for 2020-21

I am very pleased to announce that OISE has received approval from the University to conduct six new searches for continuing faculty members in the 2020-21 academic year. This is in addition to two searches which continue from the 2019-20 academic year with revised job descriptions. In total, we will be conducting searches for eight continuing faculty positions in 2020-21, as listed below:

Department of Applied Psychology and Human Development
1. Assistant Professor – Clinical and School Psychology: Anti-Black Racism in Mental Health and Education (Carried forward)
2. Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream – Developmental Psychology and Education (New)

Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning
3. Assistant Professor, Teaching Stream – Inquiry and Research Practice in Teaching and Teacher Education (New)

Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education
4. Assistant Professor – Critical Adult Education (New)
5. Assistant Professor – Educational Leadership, Policy and Social Diversity (New)
6. Associate Professor – Higher Education Leadership and Administration (New)

Department of Social Justice Education
7. Assistant Professor – Disability Studies in Education (Carried forward)
8. Associate or Full Professor – Black Studies in Education (New)

In the coming weeks, we will be forming search committees and developing and posting advertisements for these eight positions. The membership of the search committees will be circulated in a subsequent announcement.

 

OISE Library Updates

The OISE Library team will continue to provide online support for research, teaching and learning this fall while the Library remains closed. OISE faculty, students, and staff will enjoy increased access to the Library's collections with the expansion of the . Starting Monday August 24th, print books and AV materials from the OISE Library’s Stacks, Curriculum Resources, Children’s Literature, and AV collections that are not available online through the can be requested using the "Get Help" button in the . Library users will be notified by email when items are available for pickup at the Robarts Library.

Also, I want to welcome back Monique Flaccavento, Director of the OISE Library, after returning from her research leave as of July 6, 2020. I would also like to take this opportunity to personally thank Jenaya Webb for her outstanding work as Acting Director, having successfully led the Library through such a challenging year. We would also like to congratulate Jenaya on her new role as Head of Research at the OISE Library.
